It is estimated that more than 500 million cell phones are stashed away in drawers and closets around the United States because people just don't know what to do with them. With more than 200 million Americans now owning cell phones the improper disposal of cell phones has become a national problem and it has become imperative the issue of cellphone waste is addressed.

Approximately 130 million cell phones are retired every year in the United States. Some estimate that only 5-10% of those cell phones are recycled. Because of the looming disposal issue several communities have defined cell phones as hazardous waste and banned them from household trash pick-up. Residents must recycle them responsibly or, in some cases, face considerable fines.

RecycleforUS.com was established to provide a free and convenient way for anyone to recycle their old cell phone. Using our unique approach individual consumers and businesses can send in their old cell phone for responsible recycling. Businesses, government agencies and non-profit organizations can help anyone recycle their old cell phones and receive the net reclamation value of collected cell phones. We can even enable large organizations to build a complete branded recycling program for employees, customers or the general public.

On January 3rd, 2007 we received notification from the IRS that the RMS Foundation Inc. has been approved as a 501 c3 Public Charity.
